Need Advice on Using Oculus Quest

I recently received an Oculus Quest as a gift. Just wondering whether there are any Oculus Quest owners here, who can advice me on how best to use it in terms of best games / apps and where and how to purchase them without breaking the bank. All the apps and games on the Oculus store seem to be highly priced given that the device itself is not cheaper.

Thanks

You can buy Steam VR games and those can be streamed to your Quest.

There's also a subreddit for the Oculus Quest that should help you get started https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/

You can track the prices of VR games using Is There Any Deal (VR search filter applied), which is a price comparison website that can notify you of price drops of games you're interested in.

    • Thanks.. this is really helpful!!!

As with anything else, wait for sales. I don't have a Quest but I have a Rift, and generally speaking, there's usually big Oculus Home sales around the Christmas/New Years, anniversaries of the Rift CV1 launch, and around the time of Steam summer/winter sales.

Also, the prices of games will slowly come down as they age and as more games populate the market. At the moment, the Quest library is quite limited, so developers are keeping prices high to maximise their return as they know people are starved for content and will pay those prices. Once that initial early adopters market is exhausted and the store starts to fill, I'm sure we'll find more competition and more affordable games.

    • Thanks a lot and this makes a lot of sense! I will wait! ;)
