Smartpay EFTPOS Service Alleged Free Paper Rolls

Hey Guys,

smartpay (An Eftpos service provider) just announced costs to deliver there allegedly "free" paper rolls as per below.

$18 + GST for a delivery size of 30 free paper rolls
$27 + GST for a delivery size of 60 free paper rolls

Before this it was zero cost to get paper rolls when you eventually run out. They are still stating the paper rolls are free and you just pay for the postage. Given they would be delivering alot of these paper rolls to many many small businesses all around Australia do these prices seem somewhat high? As in are they simply charging you a fee and calling it all shipping costs..

Thoughts? You can get 60 paper rolls on ebay for the price they are charging. And it covers the shipping:

So in otherwords it sounds like there making money of the alleged free rolls.

send them your own shipping label then if you can get freight cheaper for the same amount of bundles :)

    Time to change provider!

  • Of course it's a rort. Is it worth getting upset about and causing yourself whatever level of grief to change providers? Probably not.

It's certainly time to shop around. I saved .18% by changing 3 weeks ago. I go through around 40 rolls a month, so that would be an additional cost, fortunately my rolls have always been free.

  • Calculate if you're better off just buying the rolls on eBay and continuing to pay your respective provider fee, or whether you'd be better off just moving to another provider.
