port in Telstra 12-month plan at The Good Guys by tomorrow 11th Aug 2019, min cost $780 ($65/month x12) to get a $400 gift card which you can use for getting a Note 10 for just $1,099 + bonus $100 gift card.
Samsung Note 10 series pricing at The Good Guys: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/phones-and-wearables/mobile-p…

or you can deduct $400 from anything you like with The Good Guys, even saving for new iPhone this Sep ;)

alternatively you can pay just $999 for the phone + 24-month contract with this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/476006 if you are happy to stick with 24-month plan instead which would cost you more for long term :), unless you are very keen with extra 20GB of data per month then I don’t see why you are happy to pay another $780 and stick with Telstra for extra 12 months.

Lol. Why don’t we just post ALL the handsets as deals.

    • not all handsets would come with FREE AKG Headphones and $100 gift card though :). reason I post this because I saw lot of people are heading to JB with 24-month plan, I just want to cut their pain shorter with Telstra and save them some money lol

      • The actual deal should be on the handset for $1499 then. TGG’s deal has been posted already afaik. Hence my sarcasm… if you get my drift lol….

Someone posted a comment about getting the $199 P30 from JB’s deal which is $999 on the receipt and then swapping the handset for another one I.e it could be this Note 10 deal making it only $698. Hmmm… quick someone post it as a new deal hahaha.

24-month contract at JB though so eventually would cost you more :). anyway, you can get discounted TGG gift card(s) if you want to save another few % lol

            @webtherapist: It’s 12 months. Not 24 months.

$698 out of pocket with a 12 months contract at $65 per month for the plan.

@TomGum: true true, my bad lol. but there is no guarantee you can do the swap with no problem though :)

To buy it outright, it doesn't seem that expensive. then why the hell does Optus charge so much for the plans 🤷🏻‍♂️..wait don't answer that. they are all a rip off?

    • +1

the only benefit for phone contract is when you can pay monthly due to affordability mainly, so, you always pay less if pay outright :)

      • +7

If you can't afford it outright, I don't think you should be considering buying a phone this expensive.

  • I would rather sign up for this plan rather than with JB. This I would get $400 Gift card, and $100 e'gift card. Then i would buy the new S Note 10 from the Samsung Partnership Program store!!!
Ps: i dont need the akg headphone..happy with my B&O E8

    • true true, I would do this too if can access to partnership program :). but this is not that bad if you can manage to get discounted TGG gift cards for further few % discount ;)

      • with Youi, you can get 5% off the gift cards. So, another $55 can be saved that way!!

    • But how will you use the TGG Gift card in the partnership program store of Samsung ?

    pay less, pay cash’

They no longer do that 🤷🤷

No one "needs" a $1000+ phone. Although everyone may "want" one.

Truth be told I bought my LG in early 2016 for ~$360 and to date it's going strong with Kogan 365 day plans.

You dont "need" anything but shelter, air, food and water.

        and ozb

There are way too many other things a person needs (long and tideous argument). Way too many snowflakes around here who can't live without $1000+ phone.

        • +1

Yes but does your phone turn dim your lights at home using just your voice when you see yourself in the mirror while eating cheetoes from a box in the nude?

          • @flashi007: I don't need to because I look good in the nude. Jokes aside yeah it's a Nexus 5X so out if the box Google vanilla.

  • Best Note 10+ 5G 512GB plan?

Telstra $50 per month plan then cancel within first month to pay just $1,699 for the handset + AKG headphones bonus + $$$ for first month pro-rata (possibly $50 + that)

  • will you get sign on credit etc?

  • I read in the terms and conditions

Device discounts do not apply to cancelled Device Payment Contracts.

You might need to check with Telstra what the payout is after 1 month.

  • Has anyone had success with TGG price beating presale items? With Officeworks offering the Note 10+ for $1,599, would TGG beat this?

    • Preorders sometimes or most get denied for pricebeat.

    • From this link, it seems no $100 gift card as per the OP. Is that correct?

      • Got it. I think the $100 is for phone purchase. So nothing to do with the plan I believe.
