Suit Pants for Man with Disproportionately Big Posterior and Thighs?

Hi all

Title says it all, I used to squat and play soccer and have always had too big a butt and thighs for my waist size.

Makes buying suit pants to wear on a daily basis to work very difficult.

I've found that buying up 1 or 2 sizes and then tailoring down doesn't work as most suits are now low rise so the rise still pulls into the crotch.

I've also tried MTM at Institchu Sydney but they didn't get the measurements right and I'm now down $1000 now and they refused a refund.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Ouch thats rough. ACCC? Unfit for purpose?

Ive got the same problem from mountain biking - insanely thick thighs but not a big waist and always had trouble finding pants. The last pair of pants i bought i went up a size and got slim fit - which works a bit better, they still dont fit great though.

I just bought another pair of pants for a wedding from myer which really fit well, but as i havent worn them in the real world i cant comment on them fully, or whether their range is normally like this. But check out Bracks

    • would have imagined it's their responsibility to fix their own error

  • One of the blokes I work with has thighs of steel from sprint cycling and find female pants work well, and because of his stature I would never have guessed that if he didn't say anything; suits his shape well. Only thing is less options for ladies…

Edit: Forgot to add, my hubby is a giant and has other issues getting suits; he got don't made up in China on Etsy from a well rated seller who had a few photo reviews from other giants with suits that fit well. He's very happy with the result. They also picked up an error in one of the measurements he sent over. Only thing is the bad Australian dollar makes it a less attractive option now…

  • Try female suit pants, they are shaped for humans with larger hips/thighs compared to leg length / waist size

Perhaps a trip to Vietnam, Hoi An, go to a reputable tailor, get measured up for a tailor-made suit, buy several, enjoy your holiday, back to work looking great.

OP is your surname Cook by any chance?

  • Stop doing those squats brah.

  • Try Uniqlo. They do pants in alot of waist/length/fit combinations. Go in store. You may have to dress down. For example; a chino pant with business shirt and blazer opposed to a full suit… thats how I resolved my fat ass thunder thigh issue.
