Lime & Tonic - An interesting departure from steep discounts

I have noticed that Lime & Tonic is offering a number of "deals" in Sydney. One of the things that is most interesting is that the deals they offer seem to be 50% or less off. Some of the deals currently on there are only 19% off. The deals they offer seem to be more unique-y types of experiences. They all seem to have sold 60+ of the vouchers.

I think it is a bit interesting. Does anyone know if this type of(seemingly) more upmarket deal website has been sucessful overseas? I went to a restaurant That I had been to previously, that is quietly upmarket, with a deal that was only 50% off and got totally screwed, IMO. Wouldn't you be livid if you bought some experience for only 19% off and got the same run-around as some of the folks on here?

    1) Who, what, where, are "Lime & Tonic"?

    2) 50% off or 19% off, a deal is a deal.

    3) Just how, and where, did you get "screwed" on the "only" 50% off deal? Details please.

    • Re 1) We have Lime & Tonic listed on our Sydney Deals page.

They have one main weekly deal at around 50% off, then a bunch of other deals around 20% off.

The deals are actually pretty good. A welcome departure from all the teeth whitening and IPL e.g.

An afternoon on a 38-Foot Yacht
High Tea at the Swiss Hotel
      Chauffeur driven trike ride

  • I think there are a lot of "group-buying" websites that are just trying to cash in on a growing industry. I don't know enough about Lime & Tonic but we have certainly screened a few from our website because we don't believe they really fit into that category.
