needed hobby graphic design and playing a few games (Minecraft, lol, and run internetdecently) we got my partner a hp Pavilion with 12gb ram cor i7 and 2gb stand alone graphics for $1500 last year hoping for something similar but really would like a touch screen (pressure sensitive would be great but if this isn't possible at this price I'd save for a graphic design tablet) I know it's asking alot but yeah i7 8gb ram is a must. I got a Lenovo 2 years ago and it shocks me all the time (hence new laptop) so will not go for a Lenovo $1500 is absolutely max but cheaper the better!

If your graphics design work requires colour accuracy it's noted that you should be looking at laptops with colour accurate IPS displays (e.g 100% SRGB spec using a proper 8-bit panel). Most laptops under a grand won't have this kind of display.
Can someone recommend a decent 15.6'/17' laptop with a glossy bright screen (300 nits or more). I need it mainly for multimedia and browsing. Absolutely no gaming. Quick responses appreciated!!
If you’re willing to spend a lot I’m sure a Mac Pro would have a good screen.
Have you considered second-hand or refurbished models? You can get better specs for the same price (but of course, there are other risks)…
