  • Have you considered the Yeti Snowball?

A lot lot cheaper and has very similar features. Perfect for streaming. Yes, slight difference in sample rate but you'd be hard to pick the difference for non-musical use. The key difference for the Blue is it's omnidirectional for recording more than one person - which streamers rarely do.

Either way definitely Yeti IMO over Rode.

  • The rode NT for sure, blue yeti is way overpriced.

  • +1

Not sure if you've seen this microphone mega-review, but it might help

  • The Rode pisses all over the Yeti. Yeti is generally overpriced and low quality.

I paid $150 for it on eBay from memory.

The other great mic at the ~$200 level is the Samson G-track. Between the two if you only want to do voice recording get the Rode NT but the G-track can be used for multiple people and music so if you see yourself doing other stuff then the Samson might be worth it.

Bear in mind for high quality you will require a shock mount and pop filter and having an arm to position it properly is also recommended. The Rode SMR shockmount with integrated metal pop filter is pretty good although it's large:

The scissor arm can be 20 bucks from eBay.

You will require audio processing to remove noise :

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/7oltbm/guide_5_ways… (use downwardExpander)

And then follow this or other guides to improve voice quality AFTER noise suppression step
    https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/better-voice-recordin…

downwardExpander is much better noise suppression than OBS internal or ReaFIR. Minimum you want downwardExpander and a gate such as Reagate to get rid of internal and external background noise

    • THanks so much for the information, do you happen to seea deal right now for the Samson G-track?
