Seems like a good deal especially for PC. Lowest it's been?

  • Is this better than the COD WWII?

    • Debatable but I feel like Battlefield V has more stuff to it and the larger maps are more fun to play in imho.

Graphics wise they are almost nearly the same unless you look at it with a microscope and if you are that sort of person you have probably already read the articles and watched the numerous comparison videos on Youtube and what not.

  • Is the game still populated? General thoughts on the state of the current game?

There is usually a full Australian/Oceanic server up at all times even overnight people are crazy like that.

Maybe 2 or 3 Australian/Oceanic servers fully populated during weekends during the day.

Otherwise you will have to get used to having fun with Americans and Europeans all other times and scenarios.

I highly suggest joining the Battlefield discord if you wanna have fun and don't mind suffering from lag (that is honestly mostly what I do these days as I just like to have a bit of a chin wag and talk smack with others around the world on there it is fun talking about where you are from and where they are from etc) plus it is fun compensating for lag just like it is compensating for bullet drop except lag affects everything :)

      Enjoy and have fun :)

The game is great fun, and the graphics are excellent.

There are a ton of whingers on various forums saying that there is not enough content, that the cosmetics are boring and/or unrealistic, that game modes are introduced and then disabled, the progression is currently capped at a fairly low rank, and that the game should be better marketed to attract more players to the franchise.

There is some truth in that (more maps would be very welcome) and there are still some annoying bugs in the game occasionally. But these are (in my opinion) minor niggles in a really fun game. I have a great time every time I play.

At $21 it's a very easy decision. You'll easily get $20 worth of fun from it.

      • Plus there's still more content to be released this chapter, and Chapter 5 will come with the Pacific theatre in early September

$28 less than what I paid for it a few months after release for PC but am glad I paid the extra for it as the initial phase of Battlefield V where everyone was still figuring things out was the best and nobody does destructible environments like Battlefield at the moment.

  • I haven’t got my PC with me to check but I saw an email from origin advertising a sale upto 80% off today and BFV was in the picture. Is it a good deal vs this?

    • Yes, BF5 is $36 on Origin at the moment. This is a better deal.

However, if it's like the other Amazon sales then they ship you an empty CD case with a key sticker inside. If you buy the Origin one, it's digital delivery and you can download it immediately.

      • The PC version is only a digital code

  • Microsoft ebay selling the xb1 for $20 delivered. For PC i guess its pretty good.

  • Can anyone recommend a bang for buck graphics card to run this half decently please?

    • Depends what you mean by bang for buck. Current best bang for buck 1440p/4k card seems to be the radeon 5700xt which you can have for ~$600 maybe less if you catch an ebay deal. It performs almost as well as the top end nvidia cards for much less money.

If that's not your budget, the 1660ti is ~$400 and reviews well for pretty much anything modern at 1080p and some older stuff at 1440p. If that's still not in your budget, a used older upper end card like a gtx970 or something like that can be found on Gumtree for under $100 and will let you play this no dramas at 1080p.

It depends what you mean by half decently as some people won't play an FPS under 100fps.

    • My 960 runs it pretty well
