Nintendo Switch exchange

According to this Reddit post, Switch owners in the US have been able to exchange their console for the latest model provided it was purchased after July 17 2019.

This was confirmed through this article.

Not sure if it applies in Oz yet but it'll be big news if it does.

    after July 17

    2017?

but it'll be big news if it does.

Why would it be big news, just for the improved battery life?

I thought it sounded crazy. What's Nintendo going to do with all the 1 month old Switches?

      • Just sell them like every other single company in existence that has updated models?

What? So they take back a bunch of used consoles and sell them again?

          • @FireRunner: Oh nevermind misinterpreted your post. Thought you were saying they wouldn't sell the old stock.

From the company that states they won't take returns on dead pixels? Nah.

  • I 5hubj maybe if yours breaks under Warrenty they will give you a new one.

    • I also 5hubj that may be possible

  • Oz never gets the sameWarranty like US, they don't fix our joy con if the little latch breaks., you have to pay for an entire new one instead of just replacing the little plastic part.

    • On a side note, the poster of the linked video/recording is pretty adamant that he didn't fake it and says Gizmodo didn't even contact him. Disappointing journalism if they did 2+2 = 5.

One Youtuber even faked a recording of a Nintendo rep confirming this deal over the phone.

Disclaimer; I didn't watch the video so I'm also bad at journalism :)
