Help! How to Transfer Music Files and Photos from iMac to Huawei P30 Lite

In a nutshell….83 year old father lost his iphone…..and is now changing over to Huawei.
I am tasked with setting it up for him and being an ios and mac user…..I am struggling!

I need to transfer some music files and some photos to his Huawei P30 lite

HiSuite IS NOT WORKING.
Syncios - need to pay?

What other file transfer options are there? Free or Paid…..let me know what is the best for transferring files (we use Mac) and for backing up huawei.

Thank you!!

  • Drag and drop.

Find the photos folder, drop to your desktop.

Then plug your huawei, drag from desktop to a folder in your huawei.

Do the same for music and anything else. Music files should be in the iTunes folder in tNotdesktop.so drag and drop that.

No need to sync with the same computer. You can drag and drop from anything and anywhere. Even movies, no need to convert to mp4. That was a painful year with iphone for me. Never again

    • When I connect the huawei to the imac, the phone doesn't come up as a device.

Download 'Android File Transfer' to your Mac and you should be able to access the file system of the phone.

        https://www.android.com/filetransfer/

      • When you connect the phone, pull down from the top of the screen. It should have usb cable or something along those lines, click it and choose file transfer.

But I see you're using that tool, as long as it works

  • I'm wondering if its easier just using dropbox or google drive. I'm guessing theres a way online to make your phone accessible to a mac though.

ok I ended up using Android File Transfer. Takes a bit of getting used to but it worked a treat.

It's really not great software but it does work.
