Good price. Only problem I have is no physical Home, PgUp, PgDown or End keys.
    It's why I prefer the Carbon X1s.

Great laptop for the price to weight ratio though.

    • Love the Carbon's design but now i have had a bad experience. I got brand new from Amazon had a screen flickering/blacking out issue and I had to return it.

Turns out alot of people experience this issue with the Carbon.

Finally found another person who also values the home/end/pgup/pgdn keys that much!
Our only choice are ThinkPad and Toshiba….

    • this is almost bezelless, Carbons aren't

Asus Zenbook UX431FA for $943.2 is a great buy. I assume you're posting it soon?

    • Anyone know if the letters on the keyboard keys on the UX431FA are hard to read due to the silver colour of the keyboard?

      • +1

i have the UX433 in silver colour. when the keyboard backlighting is off, the letters look dark grey/black, so it's clear. when backlighting is on, the letters look white, so again, is clear.

Great to know thanks very much!!!

    • Bought that at the last Futu sale, loving that notebook so far.

No thunderbolt 3 if I'm not mistaken

  • Also got one of these from a previous sale about 3-4 months ago for about $50 more. Still going strong, no tb3 but not an issue for me, would've like usb-c charging though. Also the webcam on this is really bad so if you are doing skype on the reg I'd pass on this. Apart from that, is very portable and coming from an carbon the keyboard is not bad either. Runs capture one (probably the most intensive thing its used for) with no issues

  • I've had the ASUS Zenbook 3 S UA490 since end of the year 2017.

The screen is incredible…clera and crisp, speakers were decent for the size, and at 1.1kgs, it's super light. that one had thunderbolt 2. V-decent machine but super fragile - accidentally closed the lid with a few sheets of paper in between and the screen snapped due to the pressure from the hinges.

I definitely rate the machine and the keyboard is quite nice to type on as well. find the action on the X1 carbon too much now having typed on a laptop keyboard for the last decade.

Would consider this machine if I didn't need/want TB3. Other alternatives at this price are also decent. Razer Blade Stealth, XPS13, X1 Carbon Gen 6 have all been at the 1800-2000 price range on OzB over the last 6 months.

How does the Asus ZenBook UX433FN compare to the DELL G3 15 3590 - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/laptops/dell-gam…?

I'm looking at them both at the moment and would love any advice!
    Thanks!

you're joking right? one is a gaming laptop, and one is an ultrabook, they have 2 completely different uses.

      • Similar price and while they have different uses I more more talking about the builds in comparison?

        • One is thin and light/high battery life, integrated graphics not so good for gaming - the other has a decent GPU for notebook standards for 1080p play at the cost of slightly bulkier.

Thank you, time for a new laptop 😁

  • still waiting for the one with Screenpad 2.0. When is it coming to Australia…?
