i dont understand doesnt this card still occupy the same SD slot in dual sim phones?
A quick search seems to suggest some Huawei phones can only expand their storage with these memory cards. The second SIM slot is only Nano SIM sized and doesn't fit a Micro SD.
Also pretty sure these can't be used in something that uses Micro SD.
So it sounds like they have a very limited/specific use?
Micro SD is small enough for me, until these are the only supported medium on just about every device, and are as affordable as Micro SDs, I won't bother.

Why don't create as an adapter where you can add nano sim to it so can be used in hybrid slot. Everyone will be happy.
Because Huawei got kicked out of the SD card association (temporarily).
Huawei designed these phones and the NM standard much earlier than Trump's BS.

These phones were designed WAY before Huawei got "kicked out" by Trump. NM cards were by design, not because of sanctions / embargos.
Post again when it's more around the $70AUD mark that most places are selling at in HK. These cards are so overpriced here..
