Sunglasses - Classic Styles such as Ray Ban Wayfarers etc

Hi all,

So I got laser eye surgery last week and now, for the first time in my life, I can walk into a shop and buy sunglasses! Any suggestions as to where you buy, happy to go online if worth the savings.

After the classic styles for now, but the Ray Ban Wayfarers seem to be winning for me.

Thanks for any help.

  • Congrats! I've been waiting for my eyesight to get to the point where it'd be worth getting that, but it's stubbornly stuck in the "bad but still vaguely serviceable range" for the last couple of years…

I personally wait for online sales - sunglasses are (basically) all made by Luxottica who licences ALL the big brands/labels (yes, including Raybans) so there's usually quite a large margin for discounts.

Unless it's urgent, wait for something like this:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/417705

Up to 60% off: RayBan from $50

EDIT But buy, even if online, from a reputable seller, counterfeit sunglasses are everywhere.

  • Do you want to buy sunglasses for look or for work (e.g. you actually need a pair of sunnies to do your job)

For Look: you can go with anything you like really. But wait for the classic 40% off Sunglasses Hut.
For work: I recommend Maui Jim. Style is your choice but their lenses are really good.

Enjoy your new eye sight =)

  • Hey congrats on the new eye sight! Like others said, you can always wait for the sales and stuff, but if you're really keen on grabbing a pair now you can always compare the prices of Ray Ban Wayfarers across different retailers here I'd check the urge around Christmas time again to check out for discounts between the retailers :)
