I'm a huge sceptic of these natural deodorants. Mostly because people who use them still stink lol. That being said this is the first brand that I've used that actually works. Highly recommend this line up. I was shocked that it worked.

    • Ye same, actually think it works better than most regular deodorants.. mind you they are quite pricey..

      • Agree they're pricey but they're the only deodorant I have found that actually works. Natural or not.

      Schmidt's works!

  • Pretty sure you can't post referral links on here?

    • that is correct

    • The random referral system has been set up and the main link is no longer a referral link.

      • Thankyou! :)

  • A minimum price of $25 for entitled items is required for this discount to be valid

  • Wanted to buy one to try out first but min order for the code is $25. Would be good if they had a sample size or something.

Anyone have any tips on the men’s scents?

    • I bought the citrus and musk for my partner and he loves it. Seems to be their best seller for men's.

  • I bought a bunch of natural deodorant from (American) Target that my partner and I both loved, until a few weeks later, when we got red itchy rashes in our underarms. It turns out it's a common reaction to the baking soda in the ingredients. It's strange because neither of us have sensitive skin.

I wouldn't buy too many of these to stock up just in case you have a similar reaction!

    • Bought one to try before see the comment, now it concerning me

      • We're just 2 people that had reactions. Hopefully you won't have any!

    • Weird, I kind of have the opposite problem where the I’ve suddenly developed a rash from the generic deodorant I’ve been using for years and now looking into more natural options.

      • I'm glad! It was pretty painful for us. Just wanted to give a heads up in case people weren't that there was a possible irritant in it for some. I loved the smell and effectiveness of Schmidt's lime and bergamot for the few weeks but now I have 4 sticks of it that I can't use.

        • Thanks for mentioning it was Schmidt's, i was actually just looking at them on iHerb because it was mentioned above. I have 10 sticks of Mitchum Clinical sitting in my bathroom now, sometimes being thrifty backfires :(

    Ingredients:
Fractionated Coconut Oil - a very common base for natural deodorants, beneficial to skin, should not stain clothes.
Coconut Oil - I'm not sure why this is included as well as the above.
Shea Butter - acts in a similar way to the coconut oil.
Tapioca Starch - soaks up moisture.
Baking Soda - kills the bacteria that causes armpit odour.
Ozokerite - a wax that is used for ease of application.
Milk of Magnesia - AKA magnesium hydroxide, some people claim it reduces armpit odour, a beneficial mineral to absorb.
Cyclodextrin - Probably used to help combine the ingredients.
Dextrose - Possibly the same function as cyclodextrin, otherwise I have NFI.
Probiotics - Can these be absorbed topically? If not, a marketing gimmick. Also, what's their shelf-life?

As mentioned by EightImmortals this doesn't stain clothes. Some other natural deodorants do - likely due to unprocessed butters/oils like coconut and shea.

It's not too hard to make your own deodorant as there are plenty of recipes online. The last batch I made was with shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter (optional), tapioca starch, baking soda, and a fragrance. Some people say they get skin rashes from the baking soda while others don't. I'm guessing it could be exacerbated due to cleaning one's armpits too much while showering, thus robbing the skin of oil and causing redness from friction.

For those worried about rashes, the sensitive pack if a better option as it has no baking soda plus there’s a fragrance free deo too.

I personally use the small travel sets cause you can pop them in the gym bag and good for trying new scents you’re on the fence about.

    • Thanks for pointing out that they have the sensitive skin ones. I might try those now!

Not sure if I'll buy from them (gotta compare prices), but I emailed them and FYI:

"Our Native deodorant, soap and body wash are vegan with the exception of our teen and sensitive deodorant options, but we are working on that! Our Native Toothpaste is not certified vegan at this time"

Good to know they have plenty of products which contain no animal-products and their whole range is cruelty-free (not tested on animals).
