    Wait for it …… Citibank

Have been trying to get wifes BP card cancelled for past month, with other banks its rather simple - you request it be closed, they close it you get final statement. Citibank require account to be zero, then they will activate close. So yep, they give me a balance, I pay that, now its $1 in credit. Nope they cant close it as its NOT zero.

Apart from lies last year etc when we tried to close it then, yep they stung us for another year.

So dont hold your breath for intelligent answers on your queries

    Enuff said.

    • i don't think comparing credit cards to savings accounts is a fair comparison. i'm sure all the banks get up to shenanigans for credit cards.

i've used the virgin money saver account for 3 months now and everything has been great, all transfers have gone through promptly and interest has been calculated correctly (i checked). their online banking interface is a p.o.s.

now that the introductory rate is gone i've moved all my money to ubank. it citibank has a promotion to open a savings account then i'll probably take up that offer. obviously i won't touch their credit cards because i'm not stupid.
