Yeah, we got the man a Halo jacket for $99 and Melbourne has been cold almost everyday since. He loves his MacPac jacket it keeps him toasty warm.

No, "we" as in the man and me; he doesn't tend to clothes shop on his own. What I do find interesting, now that you bring it up, is that the kitties sleep on just about anything, including us, but avoid sleeping on any of our "puffer" jackets - they musn't like the slippery outer layers on them. I sometimes leave them on the couch, because I'm a slob.

Exactly what I was thinking. There are some puffer jackets around that don't make you look like the Michelin Man but they aren't that common, just from looking around from everyone with the normal type.
Seamless as in no horizontal seams you typically get in down jackets, this one is bonded or something similar.

This puffer is better value, imo, than the Macpac halo hooded one. Comes with an internal cuff, compared to a strap one and has fleece lined pockets to keep your hands warm. My missus has the halo, I have the seamless down. I really dig the seamless design, less feathers lost compared to my missus' halo. Macpac staff did mention it's normal to lose a few feather during initial use.

I have a Cederberg one from Anaconda I picked up early last year, it loses feathers gradually. I'm expecting it to one day have no feathers at all, although that could be in 20 years.
Well the goose lost theirs all at once, and given where these are sourced i wouldn't discount they were alive at the time.
