The ramen doesn't even look appealing in the poster.

It looks like Ichiban Boshi Express/Tenkomori, going by the photos and the prices

    • Looks super watery.

    • looks kinda ordinary doesn't it, and small.

  • Does not look good at all.. interested to hear review first

So just tried the shoyu style (soy sauce/ chicken broth) wasn't bad. Bit salty. Saw the tonkatsu style, looked good but not on special and $15.
Will post image of full menu soon.

Do you mean tonkotsu? Tonkatsu is a chicken schnitzel basically

      • Ahhh yeah. Mobile typing and not thinking

      • So tonkatsu is basically the same as katsudon?

        • no, you get a tonkatsu in a katsudon.

  • is this run by chinese or japanese? it was run by chinese before it did a renovation… im assumming not under new management?

    • sounded like Japanese form the way they were talking trying to resolve an order issue.

    • grand opening for $3 discount? you tell me, Japanese or Chinese ?

      • Korean

        • Most Jp places are run by Korean. At least they're half good. Then when popular they get bought out by Chinese and things like deep fried dim sims get added to the menu.

    My mates review:

"There wasn't a lot of people, so service was quick and prompt. It is 2:30 pm, so not a surprise. The bowl was small and thus the quantity is smaller. $9 would be what I'd pay for it, not $12.50 as it is usually without the grand opening discount.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was better then before. It was cozy and not overly decorated. It has a simple feel, as not to over compensate on the furnishings.

The actual miso ramen was pretty average. The miso soup I got was bland, lacking distinct miso flavour. The noodles was not too bad, but comparatively to other places that have actual ramen, this was average.

The condiments at the seatings were pretty good, standard for a Japanese eatery but they were all there. The place was clean and tidy, maybe due to it being a quiet period. Overall I'd give this place a 4/10.

It wasn't so bad that it's horrible, but with so many glaring issues with the meal, I'd rather pay more to get a proper bowl of ramen."

    • but what about mouth feel?

      • Mouth feel I'd give 4/10. Too much salt.
