I Need an Interstate Removalist - Home Moving

Hi people,
I need to move from melbourne to canberra.

What i have is actually:

1 bicycle
8-10 packaging boxes
1 checked baggage
1 hand baggage
2 backpacks

So basically I don't have anything that requires two persons to lift up. Plus, I would like to travel with the driver while moving my stuff instead of flying to canberra. would this be possible with the removalist companies? because i don't need a labourer.
So, can you give me some reliable removalist recommendations? or for this type of request should i use airtasker? Lastly, How much should i expect to pay?

Thanks in advance.

  • Why not rent a truck? I go with Orana usually but they don't have a Melb office - but find someone who has offices in Melb and Canberra, that way you can just return the truck in Canberra when you're done.

    • damn sorry i forgot to tell that i dont drive.

      • Oh, that puts a slight crimp in that plan then…

Most cost effective would still be something like this, maybe ask around on Facebook for someone going from Melb to Canberra anyway without their own car. Otherwise you're looking at paying a removalist 2 full days' work considering they'll charge you for driving back to Melb too.

Rent a ute or a van. Melbourne to Canberra is an easy one day drive.

Leave early. Stop in Euroa for a break and some breakfast.

Stop in Holbrook and grab some lunch and check out the submarine.

Get into Canberra early afternoon ~3pm.

  • Attach trailer to pushbike.
    Put stuff in trailer.
    Ride to Canberra.

    You’re welcome.
