Rideshare drivers and being polite

So I've done a bit of travelling today, fly in late. Do rideshare drivers really care if I just sit in the back silent? I really cbf chatting to be polite.

    Drivers care that you give them a 5* rating and don't mess up the car. Other than that - I've never known an Uber driver to care what else you did.

  You'll be fine sitting quietly in the back if the driver has a mustache, a van and 25 bags of lollies.

    That's not funny. I've had an awful experience in that exact scenario. Stomach cramps.

  'Polite' means different things to different people. Where on earth did you get the idea that chatting = polite?
