Does T-Mobile Locked Android Phone Works with SIM Card Here in AU?

Interested to buy one of the phone, seller has several units ships from VIC, asked the question but hasn't got a reply yet. Maybe is ozbargain fellows know this?

    If you’re an AT&T, a T-Mobile or a Sprint customer, or use another carrier, check the company’s site for unlocking instructions. In most cases, typical requirements include a completed contract commitment with the company and a device that has not been reported as lost or stolen.

  • No, locking works the same way over there to here.

    Also be aware that the bands for T-Mobile aren’t the same as here. Check the specs on the phone you want and the carrier you want to use.

    Hint Australian sims are not T-Mobile sims ;)

  • Thought I read something about, T-mobile locked phone is only locked to T-mobile inside US, and when you are traveling outside the US, it accepts any SIM.
    So it is not the case?
