How to Buy Stuff from Amazon US and Have It Shipped to Australia?

How to buy from Amazon US website? I wanted to buy an item on Amazon.com. After I made my selection; the website says “This item ships to xxxxxx, Australia. Get it by Monday, Sept. 16 - Monday, Sept. 23 Choose this date at checkout”. I enter my Australian address and go to the checkout where this message appears:
We are currently unable to ship items sold by third parties to Australian shipping addresses. I have tried this with a few different items with the same result.

Yeah, it's an annoying carry over from the change requiring international sellers to collect GST. It has to be sold by and ships from Amazon for them to send it direct. If it's sold by someone else even if it's shipped by Amazon you need to send it to a freight forwarder, friend, relative etc and then have them send it over.

  • If you don't mind paying a slight premium - then I recommend using the shipping forwarder https://planetexpress.com.

I used planetexpress to get some basketball singlets from fanatics.com ultimately sent out to Australia.

Shipping prices were reasonable and shipping time was quick. There is a code floating around that gets you 1 month of the premium plan that allows you to do parcel consolidation.

Everything is pretty much self-service and they take photos of the packages.
