lego has changed so much its basically just preformed premade parts that go together in 5 steps. whatever happened to all those little parts you had to stick together to actually make something.
for instance you could make a car into a spaceship, or whatever else…. but now everything is big one piece moulded crap that doesnt take any imagination to make.
This is the toy I loved most back in our childhood, a big box of this could keep us busy for hours and lasts forever.
Even though there are so many new ones with movie themes or something nowadays (like Star Wars), the classic ones like Lego City are still the best and most versatile - so versatile I can build almost whatever I can think of.
Has one of the best hours of fun per $ though!
RRP on Lego.com is $140. Good price imho, considering even toy sales will have at most 20-25% discount.
Been looking around for my nephew, Myer has it for $140 - 20%, but that Amazon UK version looks the best deal

Not sure - we bought this for our son last Christmas and wife just made a passing mention today about the special being only $88 (We got it for $120 then).
Either way, Lego is always cheaper outside Australia - US, UK etc. We get ripped off pretty hard here for sure.Yes, I have been to the Big W at Browns Plains, Brisbane, only Police Station is on special for $88, fire station is still $118 from my memory.

For small pieces of plastic, Lego is so expensive. Having said that, Lego was the best part of my childhood so it's probably worth it. And compared to elsewhere, this is a great price, so + from me.
