Ozbargainers' Favorite PC Gaming Headset?

Hey guys, first post on this site. The headband on my wireless man-o-war just broke recently and I'm thinking about getting a new headset. Searched for a few related posts but didn't come to a definite conclusion.

What are some of the comfortable wired or wireless headset that you have personally used?
I wear glasses, if that's relevant.

Budget is around $150 give or take.

Edit: Purchased Logitech G433 just to try it out. Will be back with feedback if anyone is interested.

  • I use the hyperx cloud alpha it's comfy and sounds great.

Used to use the logitech stuff and that wasn't too bad either.

    • Seconded. I use the older Cloud II's and they're bloody good for the money.

    • Third-ed? Super comfortable and awesome sound quality.

  • I use mid-range audiophile headphones with an amp, so I guess I won't be much help lol. Probably look at the Sennheiser GSP 300, anything they make is usually extremely comfortable.

    • thanks for the recommendation! The cushions in the pictures does look comfortable

  • SteelSeries Arctis 7. Great wireless gaming headset with surround sound. It's been as low as ~$150 but most of the time you'd be spending >$200. If interested make sure you get the '2019 edition' as it's got a number of improvements over the previous edition.

    • do you mean the 2019 edition was once around $150? or the previous versions?

      • It was $152 for the 2019 edition last Black Friday. This is when I picked it up.

I use Sennheiser HD6XX with a mod mic 5 but that's certainly not within that budget lol

I wear glasses aswell but havent had any issues with headsets.

I also own G533 Wireless - They are quite loose still usable but loose so wouldn't recommend
I also own G433 wired - easily the most comfortable gaming headset ive ever used.
Another surprisingly comfortable headset was the cheap Hyper x cloud stinger they where very comfortable though the pair i had just stopped working in less than 2 weeks but they now have a wireless version out.

    • I will check out the G433. Thanks!

    HS70 working well for me

  • Buy some good cans - Sennheiser or Beyerdynamic second hand are amazing value. Add a Zalman ZM-MIC 1 for around $14.

I'm rocking Sennheiser HD558 I bought for $90 off ebay, spent a few bucks on new pads off ebay and the above Zalman mic. Very happy with it.

Recently tried the above back to back with a friend's Razer Kraken "Tournament" headset they bought for $140. Sound quality was garbage in comparison, loud muddled bass and the mic was way too quiet even at max settings.

  • Since you wear glasses, the earcups definitely need to be big so that it's comfortable when it fits around your ears. Youtube reviews and stuff are a good way to gauge the size of earcups, so yeah

  • Try RTINGS.com for a comprehensive review site for headsets. They really go full depth, as well as allowing sortable filtered comparison tables.

With all the reviews I've read recently (I just bought the HyperX Cloud Revolver S), it usually comes down to HyperX or SteelSeries for a mixture of comfort, quality of sound and microphone for the price…

  • Personally I use old Audiotechnica headphones (going strong for 10 years) with those $10 Zalman mics.

What normally happens for me, is that I eventually run over the cable enough with my computer chair, so detachable cables are a must for the headphones. However the Zalman mic is just $10 and is perfectly fine for voice.

They're usually $10 I swear, maybe inflation finally got to the price.
