I’d love a drive like this but will never buy one that runs hot. Are there any similar ones that don’t overheat?

  If you want high speed, it runs hot. Not necessarily overheat, just less insulation. Buy a bigger one, may not feel the heat but too much insulation may cause over heating.

Warning! This drive is extremely slow to write to. under 20Mbps when I tested the 256 version. I tested with both usb-c and usb-a 3.0, but were terrible. It was a genuine sandisk drive. I ended up returned it

    It did get a little but warm, but the poor speeds were not related to heat. It just uses poor flash memory.
