Recommendations: Hotels, Resorts, Villas and Driving (Phuket)

Hi guys,
Got a trip booked to Phuket in Feb.
any recommendations on the places you have lived in Phuket? We don’t want to spend an arm and a leg. But wouldn’t mind paying slightly more for the facilities. We are heading up to relax and enjoy.

We would also like to hire a car and drive. Will be there for 10 days. Any tips?

    Step 1 - don't go to Phuket
Step 2 - enjoy your holiday

      Step 3 - don't drive.

      • Dont drive in Phuket lol.

    • Where in Phuket did you go?

  • Rawai Sea Gypsies Market is a must!

Freshly caught seafood for sale on on one side of the market, then a row of restaurants to cook it for you on the other side.

You will eat like a king for about $20.

  • Stayed at Wyndham Sea Pearl resort on the edge of Patong city. About a 10min shuttle ride into the hustle and bustle. Good resort, where each room has its own jacuzzi which made it more enjoyable.

    Don't drive

  • So little information to respond to.

What does 'enjoy' mean to you?
Where on Phuket are you staying?
    What interests do you have?
    Do you get seasick?

Don't drive. Just get a driver

    • This right here!!!

It's sooooooo much cheaper to have a driver take you around all day.

Keep an eye out you will get approached on the street, by them, check out the car they have and go from there.

Don't drive lol. Aussies don't have the training to drive a car in south east asia

  • It's been a while, but I really enjoyed the Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach.

Agree with others, whatever you do, don't drive.

    • The upgrade of Marriott @ Merlin was like putting lipstick on a pig. It is so old it should have been pulled down and started over. Heaps better places around Phuket.

If you want a good holiday get out of Patong. Natai Beach or up that way is much nicer.
