Need Help Finding a Notification Device for Noisy Environment

Friend has asked if I know of any device they could connect to their phone via Bluetooth that would flash a light and/or vibrate on incoming calls and messages.

Now, before everyone jumps on the "sports/fitness tracker" bandwagon, they can't have anything like that on their wrist while operating machinery and they don't work very well in a pocket.

"What about Bluetooth headphones?" Due to OH&S, they also can't use the headphones options.

What I was thinking was either something that they can put in their pocket or clip on their clothes that would vibrate or something that can sit on or attach to a surface and has a notification light.

I found a device called "Ditto" but can't seem to find anyone with stock. But that is what they would be looking for. Even better if it's like the Ditto but has a notification light as well.

Edit:

Forgot to mention, it needs to be easily charged (prefer removable standard battery like CR2032 or AAA) and last a week or so between charges/battery replacement. If it is rechargeable, micro USB the same as the phone is a preference to proprietary connection.

Clips on. Does vibrating notifications. Has OLED screen.

    • Oh, yes, this is in the right direction. Didn't even look at fitbit because I thought it was all bracelets and smart watches…

  • The accessibility features on your phone will probably let you make the phone camera flash blink when there is a call or message
    e.g. https://www.samsung.com/nz/support/mobile-devices/note9-flash-notification/

so the phone could be sitting nearby and you can see it ring?
    Most phones will have this.

    • Cheers for the idea. Unfortunately, they can't have their phone on them or near the machines, so it's usually in a toolbox not far away. This was my first suggestion until I was told about their "no phone in sight" policy.

Grab a Miband and turn it into a makeshift ankle monitor.

Only half joking. Would be an easy, cheap alternative to the ditto.

or hang it on a lanyard around your neck tucked into the shirt…

or just stuff it in your underpants, except when you call your friend and you wonder why he doesn't pick up the phone.

      • Yeah, I toyed with that idea as well. Worst come to worst, I could just get a watch and remove/cut the band off and mount it another way.

The watch and band is separate.. the watch part is only the size of a Small USB stick

    • Cheers. Will put that on the list to look at. I don't know why this and the Fitbit mentioned above didn't come up in searches I was doing…

Lush 2 has bluetooth and wifi connectivity, discrete, can't be seen, vibrates so will effectively get your attention in noisy environments.

Oh, now that would be "discreet"… But does it light up?
