  • I wish it could do two displays.

    • Yeah, also on the lookout for one that does 2 ext displays!

I assume that 2 displays may require a more full on USB-C/thunderbolt docking station, as opposed to these more portable hubs?

      • My work Dell docking station supports 3 and it's about the same footprint (but double the thickness).

It takes more than 100W though.

4k30 is a bit of a downer but to be realistic, people who want to run 4k60 off a $30 hub are edge cases/expecting too much?

this the cheapest yet for a hub of this quality brand name, performance etc?

  • Need a hub like this (for card reading, usb c reading and extra screen purposes) but the ports on my current tower are all USB-A.

Would a usb-A to C be a good solution to make this work?

    • +1

Extra screen won't work over USB-A.

For everything else, you're probably better find an USB-A one, as it would be much cheaper!

  • Good company, good price. But my experience with these types of devices is that they break (cable, plug) easily if used daily. Perhaps this item is better.

Amazon do the Wavlink USB Type C Hub Adapter with 4K Hdmi Port, 2 X USB 3.0 Ports, Sd Card & Micro Sd Card Slots for MacBook Pro for $30 - Say for MacBook but my Laptop has the double USB-C as well so should suit

    • What is your laptop? Is it yoga? wouldn't that distant between the usb-c ports different?

I just received my one of these and here's a quick review for anyone who cares.
    1. HDMI to various screens works great. Tested on my Samsung S10+ &Tab S4 connecting to LG TV (4K), BenQ monitors (1080p), Blitzwolf projector (720p). All detected fine and I was able to use screen mirror/Dex without an issue. I tested this with my Dell XPS 15 9560 and I was able to display HDMI without an issue.
    2. USB connectivity: I connected my Dell D3100 Display link to a USB port on this USB-C hub and I was able to use all my USB peripherals like mouse, keyboard, USB drive, etc (that were effectively daisy chained) without an issue.
    3. PD: Tried this with my phone and was able to charge my phone without an issue. Plugged this into my Dell XPS and it picked up the undercharged power (my XPS needs 130W) but that's expected. Not sure how to confirm if it's 100W though.
    4. cosmetics wise, it's nice and slim. smaller than my S10+ and paired well with phone and projector to allow me to stream movies to large screen anywhere pretty easily :-)

I just wish they had Ethernet port! So looking for a second one.

    • Are you able to read SD cards off this hub when connected to your phone? i.e. can you confirm the OTG functionality?

      • Sorry don't have a spare sdcard to test for you. Just ordered the Harvey Norman deal so I'll be able to when I can pick that up. OTG to USB works fine

    • Any coil whine? Was my problem with other BW products

      • No coil whine on this. Nothing on the projector either.

    • Thanks for the review!

Anyone know whether this product can be used for portable Nintendo Switch Dock (Output to external monitor, PD charging via dock)?

  • Can this be used for Samsung DeX?

    • +2

Yes, works with both my S10+ and Tab S4

      • Do you happy to know if any other non Dex phones support any reasonable experience when output to a TV\monitor?

  • I just clicked on the link and it's showing AUD $49, has the price gone up or am I missing something? Can't seem to find anywhere I can change to USD

    • Price has gone back up.
