Installing Roof Racks - Advice Required

I bought some roof racks (Rhino Rack Vortex RCH) that bolt onto the car (the mounting holes are already factory fitted so should be fairly easy). With the black ditch trim that is currently on the car, is that normally cut to length or does it just require a hole to be drilled for the mounting screw before it's replaced?

  • Never fitted those before, just clamp on stuff, but in my experience the instructions that come with Rhino's products are very good.

Their customer service on the other hand is very slow to respond if they do at all.

  • Cut to length.

Should you chose to have the racks temporarily off, save the cutoffs and replace into the tracks.

Should you wish to have it permanently restored, you can buy the rubber to replace.

    • Thanks.

    Please explain?

Are you talking about the ditch trim in on the bars, or the mounting hole covers? The bars ive always installed you havent needed to modify anything on the car

What kind of car is it?

    • 2018 MQ Triton. The black rubber trim that sits in the channels on the roof. The mounting holes are underneath the trim.

      • AH yep ok looks like youll need to trim it. All cars ive done that have mounting points has been like a cap you take off to access the bolt holes. makes sense now

        • Thanks 👍🏻
