iOS App: The Truth about Drugs (Online Education Foundation for a Drug-Free World)

So, it has a game-like multimedia feel, not unlike one from Sweden's Toca Boca AB.

Sign-in or not. There're eighteen parts, most about just one type of drug (each with ~ seven elements, from PSA (Public Service Announcement) to short documentaries, to booklets, to homework).

What'cha think?

How come Canada & Portugal are good with Pot?
  • 5
AU should follow Canada's lead, if only to boost our TAX revenues
  • 2
AU didn't improve w/ Pokie TAX revenues, so why would POT TAX do us any better?

Don't have iOS so I wouldn't know, but unless it touches on how Alcohol is the most damaging drug in the world, and has caused more human suffering than anything else in our species' civilised history, apart from religion of course, then it's useless.

    • I'd give you a half a neg for that if I could. (or half a plus? ):)

    • +3

It's also responsible for more human happiness (and just… humans) than anything else in our species' history so there's that.

      • I get a lot from sweet music
        Helzner, Perlman, etc.

I don't need no stinkin' Al-
        kohol to be H-A-P-P-Y… ;~)

How about we just do what Portugal did and decriminalise drug use.

Then the massive savings from not running the billion dollar police and prison industrial complex for drug users can be used to rehabilitate users and supply free drugs where this cannot be done.

Conservative, staid Switzerland is doing the supplying free drugs to addicts thing which has saved them enormous amounts of money and social consequences. The offical residence for the Swiss Prime Minister is located opposite one of the facilities for the poor saps getting their free drugs. The Swiss have very low rates of drug use overall because they spent money rehabilitating rather than imprisoning people despite providing free drugs for addicts.

cos that would be visionary and intelligent and those are two words our political class are not aware of. Might as well ask them to build dams and pipelines instead of lodging bloody Olympics bids……

      • The Coalition cashless scheme proposal means paying a third party $4,000 for each card issue. With thosands of people on welfare, it could get into billions. This third party appears to donate a lot to Coalition.

As long as this kind of eye watering acts occurs, drugs won't get decriminalised.

In Portugal, police don't give "tickets"
I think they offer rehab, instead.

It's a Q of where you want to spend you $$:

      • prisons, after trips thru a clogged court sys

      or

      • medical care (but you get a future worker back out the other end)

Oh, & Portugal gets lots more tourism, eg, folks
who look the place over, intending to take their
      system back to their countries

Ask police what they think we need in AU…

I haven't, as I have enough to do trying to make
      way for, eg:

      • Safe Green Liquid-Fuel NUCLEAR: Molten Salt Reactors
in a land that's BANNED it since 1999, to help Fossils

The big WIN for Portugul is that they get to save all the money that was being wasted on persecuting ALL non-corporate drug users and only have spend a smaller amount helping that small percentage of drug users that actually have a problem with it. Our politicians are so dumb (or conniving and corrupt?)

        • Our politicians are so dumb (or conniving and corrupt?)

          Why not both?

    • BTW, there's a place that alcoholics
get a dose of wine periodically.

It's Not a treatment center, more of
      a residence w/ liquid perks.

I've forgotten how their doses are
      determined…?

Meanwhile, lotsa folks & kids stave,
      around the World…

      • I've forgotten how their doses are determined…?
