I need to change mobile plans as my current Telstra contract is ending and as new Telstra plans don't offer free IDD or roaming. Looking at Vodafone or Optus. Optus/eBay $50 plan seems very attractive. Vodafone also has a $50 plan with their $5 roaming which is very good value. I mainly use in Sydney metropolitan. I've seen comments on Whirlpool that Vodafone now has poor internet speeds, especially when connecting overseas.
What's the experience here?

Voda is poor in Wolli Creek, Telstra is poor in Barangaroo, Optus is poor in Blacktown. Etcetera.
You really need to buy a couple of prepaid sims for a month and try them both out where you regularly go. The fact that I get great coverage on one network where I am won't make it good for you elsewhere.
