Toshiba Qosmio X505 - $1400

I'm looking to buy a decent laptop to do some CAD modeling work on the go. Budget about 3K. At the moment, I'm hooked onto this @ $1400

http://www.accessantennas.com.au/perth-discount/laptops/tosh…

The cons: it's a discontinue model. It's a refurbished unit.

The pros: it's speced really decent. It's sold by a retail store. You can buy 3year waranty for it with extra 80bux.

Any objection? or any better alternative?

    Brand new $1379

    Intel® Core i7 2630QM 2Ghz (Turbo 2.9G)/6M cache
    6GB RAM
    640GB HDD
    GT540m
    3x USB 3.0 ports
    15.6 inch with 1366x768 screen
    Blu-Ray drive

    • but this one is 18.4 inch screen, it's pretty appealing. That's why I've overlooked the 1st gen i7, the could-have-been-better graphic card, and no USB 3.

Is extra 3" worth the sacrifice? I mean in term of the screen size of course :)

        1. It is an American model
        2. No local warranty
        3. It is a dog of a model, hence why there are so many refurbs around.

It is only a good buy if you don't mind it being disposable.

        • kool, New thread in "Find me a bargain" then :)
