  • I got it too.

    I concur.

  • I believe we recently implemented a ban on contacting members after they are put into the penalty box due to the the issue with Dino(nospam)Direct.

    • Thats fine for normal run of the mill naughty users. But this was a brand new user, who was spamming out to members literally within minutes of creating the account, obviously for the purposes of hit and run spamming.

So I'd even go further, and say that new members (as of now) also need a certain comment/post count before they can contact other members. That should weed out any dodgy accounts before they create an actual problem.

      • Hate to increase the complexity but that could cause issues.

Scenario - someone puts something up for sale, needs to be contacted, new person joins and has intent to buy but can't contact.

Maybe a toggled option with a predefined comment/post count for who can contact you. For example, I choose to be contactable but have 'not by new users' enabled, so anyone with less than 10 comments can't contact me.
