I’m Looking for a Decent Good Size TV at a Fair Price

I know I won’t get something “amazing” without spending big, but I can’t afford it. So looking for something decent size and quality but affordable (Max $1500)

I’m looking at Kogan, Aldi, other random sales, but I’m completely lost and hear conflicting views.

What do you think of this one? https://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung-65-inch-ru7100-4k-uh…

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you :)

The 7100 has been under $1100 recently, so I would wait for a 20% off sale. They happen often.

    even cheaper

The best thing is to pick your top 3 TV's that you are happy to buy, set a notification on the models, and wait for the sales to come. There is always a sales around the corner.

Only look at Kogan if the prospect of a nightmare return and time without a TV doesn't bother you. Or keep the box so you don't have to wait two weeks for them to send you a box to send the TV back to them.

That's really easy to do these days.

  • Purchased this TV from Kogan about 4-6 weeks ago for $399 + delivery. Sensational telly, just awful integrated speakers. Connected to my existing Logitech 2.1 speakers, happy as larry.

  • What are you watching? Films? Games? Or just kids shows and Dancing with the block?

What do you want most? Lowest price, image quality, size, convenient smart TV apps, or reliability?

Answer changes drastically depending on which you prioritise highest.

I know I won’t get something “amazing” without spending big

Not true at all. If you're willing to install it (might just meaning running an HDMI cable to a shelf, depending on your room) you can have a huge, immersive projector image covering a whole wall. About $800 delivered for 1080p http://shop.benq.com.au/w1090-refurbished.html, and some of the 4K ones come pretty close to your max budget of $1500.

    • I will be using it to watch Netflix, Stan etc through my Fetch TV Box as well as DVDs (haha I still have so many DVDs and for some reason still use them) I also watch shows and movies I downloaded into my USB, I need it to be able to connect to my internet. I would like to use it for gaming
Size wise I was hoping for something 55” - 75” although as much as I love me a big TV, I am moving more towards 55”/65” as I’ve never actually seen a tv that size in m apartment and am worried it would be too big.
My price is $1500 max but was hoping for something around $1000.
I want something reliable. I would like image quality to be good, but sometimes I cannot actually tell the difference between a super high imagine quality and good quality. I just don’t want something that looks crap, I’d like it to be clear.

This isn't an issue these days. Even the cheapest crappy brand TV from JB HiFi looks way better than your DVDs ever will come close to on the best possible display.
