28 Degrees insurance on Apple Watch

With the release of new Apple products imminent, curious to hear if anyone has successfully claimed on an Apple Watch on the 28 Degrees insurance (price protection or merchandise protection) before?

Price protection excludes jewellery - presumably you couldn't argue an Apple Watch is jewellery.

Merchandise protection excludes watches and jewellery - An Apple Watch tells the time, but so does almost every electronic device.. Presumably aimed at non-digital watches but curious if people have successfully claimed on this or been denied on the basis that it's a watch.

  • I have successfully claimed price protection on analogue watches before.
I imagine Apple watches'd be classified as electronics, thus there shouldn't be any issues as long as purchase was less than 6 months ago.
Can't help you with merchandise protection though.

    • +1

its now been changed to 1 year for both price and merchandise protection for 28D :)

      • Ta, never realised this.
It definitely pays to check the PDS from time to time.
