[Optus Perks] $7 Hoyts Kids Tickets for Selected Movies

150

My local hoyts doesn't have any kids/concession tickets any more (Everyone pays the same, not sure if that's a nation-wide thing now). I was pleasantly surprised when I was this offer on Optus Perks: $7 kids tickets.

  • This voucher is redeemable for one (1) general admission ticket for one (1) child (15 years & under).
  • Only valid for redemption for the following films; Angry Birds 2, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Abominable, Ugly Dolls and Paw Patrol: Ready Race Rescue.
  • This voucher can be upgraded to DBOX, 3D and/or Xtremescreen movie sessions with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption.
  • Valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced.
  • If redeemed at HOYTS.com.au or the HOYTS app, both the voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

Nice of hoyts to charge you a booking fee on their own products on their own website.

Nice find OP, time to treat my mates kids. They get in the way of our drunk bbqs.

Yeah - it's pretty shi***y and illegal (component pricing laws). I really hope the ACCC get on to their case.

The T&C for this deal make it sound like you can redeem the voucher in-person without a booking fee. Note that you can buy tickets in-person several days in advance too, just like the website.

Thanks.luckily came across this before booking 2 super saver extreme screen for $14 whether it's for a child or not. Yes really hate the booking fee, they will prob say it cost them more to provide this online service because of the investment in IT infrastructure lol. BTW didn't get charged any upgrade fee for xtreme session when I redeemed it online.

There's a million ways to spin it, but at the end of the day, it just creates bad will among customers like you and me, that don't like the itemized charge.

I probably wouldn't care if prices were increased by $1 across the board.

  • How quick have people received their coupon after they purchased? I just put an order through 8am, hoping for a 12pm midday session!

    • Took me <1 hour on Saturday, so you should be fine.

      • Cheers!

Sorry. All OPTUS Perks tickets have been purchased for this session. Please choose a different session, or cinema for more Optus Perks tickets. Or continue, to buy a standard ticket for this session.

    • When do you see that error? The $7 child ticket involves 2 steps - buying a voucher, redeeming the voucher.

I just tried to buy a voucher and go all the way through to the payment screen.

If you're getting it when trying to redeem a voucher online, you probably need to check with hoyts.
