I'm looking for supportive work shoes that will last the distance.
Ideally, black plain toe Oxfords or Derby (might make an exception for cap-toe) (strictly no Broguing) that can take an innersole and possible orthopedics
Arch Support required: High to Average Arch (because I am flat-footed) and have had physio on my knees in the past due to over-pronation
Width: D
Need Padding around the ankle (to provide additional support and comfort).
I've owned Florsheim Comfort Gel (which the leather started falling apart on, the stitching has come undone, the colour has worn off & the sole has worn down), Ecco (where the leather started losing colour and the sole recently fell off), Julius Marlow (where the sole has worn through).
I've heard that Ascent Business shoes are supportive (but I've also read on product review that the shoes have fallen apart within a year https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/ascent?rating=1).
I've tried on Ascent Mens Contest (https://www.theathletesfoot.com.au/ascent-contest-mens-black…) at Athletes Foot after they conducted the 3D MyFit and they suggested that the Ascent would be a better option than Rockport (which I've found out are too wide for my feet anyway) and Hush Puppies.
Is there anyone else with similar foot problems that can recommend business shoes that are Finance Interview, Exec Meeting, Gala, Conferences and Lounge Suit Attire appropriate?
I wear Brooks Addiction as a casual shoe (which have been a shoe and have only just started showing wear on the sole after about 4 years), but I don't think they are formal enough for the workplace (except for casual Friday)
