    Dyson, Bose, some shoes brands charge more than 1000x for their brand sticker. Worst thing is there are always idiots that come to ozbargain n say 'oh they research day n night'.

          @sprucemoose92: Xiaomi stuff (most phone models, vacuume, air purifier, pen etc), many other brands only specialise in one or two perticular things. I bought wiper blades from AliExpress for $2.20 last year -still fine(can't remember the brand). Windscreen cleaner tablets-using them for 6 years, can recommend. $23 Blood pressure monitor gives same result as $179 from pharmacy my brother bought. I don't usually look for any brands-search ozbargain & see if people have used it & recommend it.

          @sprucemoose92: Their heaps of Chinese warrior get paid to promote chinese products here on ozb or lots of Chinese on ozb without justifying why their product is better.

            @kml22: If you are referring to myself I don't get paid. I'd rather pay 5% of cost to get a product that is 80% as good.

            I'm all about that cost efficiency.

            Hence why I'm so happy with what I've got in my house. I do have premium products but only because I spend where necessary.

            I'd rather save money on gadgets and luxuries and spend the coin on say… Cooking appliances. So I can save the coin on eating out to re-invest in my house.

  No wonder price are slowly dropping for the 700 soundbar.

  Pros

  • Premium design.

  Cons

  • Meh sound performance. Honestly, underwhelming sound compare to other competitors in that price range.
  • Intermittent drop outs (Personally experienced). Well documented reddit and whirlpool forums about this problem.
  • No DTS or Dolby Atmos support.
  • Bass (Sold separately)
  • Expensive

  Suffered a week of drop outs and unimpressive sound, decided to return it after a week.
  Now a proud owner of a Sony HTZ9RF (seconds from sony ebay deals) with soundbar + Bass and satellite speakers for less.

    I had this soundbar for about a month and got rid of it. If you have limited space underneath your TV then it is one of the few options. The base is terrible so you'll need to spend another $800 on the sub.

    I was so underwhelmed I decided to wall mount my TV in order to get more space underneath and then went with a Samsung.

  I have been using the Yamaha YSP-2700 for the past couple of years and couldn't recommend it enough. Excellent soundbar + subwoofer combo.
