Long short, Xioami Smart bidet, moving house - anyone installed on modern toilet?

Hey all,

Anyone got any ideas how the heck I install a bidet on one of these ugly things?

http://b.domainstatic.com.au.s3-website-ap-southeast-2.amazo…

Is it possible at all? Or am I out of luck.
Bonus combination difficulty, I'm a renter, I can't change the bowl itself, I can easily remove, clean and store the lid for later. Power I can solve.

Anyone here done it?

FML just FML.

  • Should be fine. Listen/ignore the nice foreign man and watch the video.

    • So maybe the water IN to the toilet is around the rear left?

Problem is, I've seem some of these 'pro' installs which look more like hotels now - esp in apts and I'm … 99% sure that the metal cable to the wall outlet for water is ENTIRELY not there. Like it's all built into the wall if that makes sense? There's no way to 'tap in' to the water.

      Hopefully I'm wrong.

      • So the wall near the toilet has no water shut off valve visible? Most have them but if yours doesnt That's a problem, if you don't have water the bidet won't work. Maybe buying a pipe that would reach under your sink to the valve there. Fingers crossed the valve is just out of sight

So that's the issue, I'll know in like an hour - but (if I recall!?) it did NOT have the pipe on the outside like that video, some of them do internal routing. Or they router from like 'inside' the toilet?

          • @hamwhisperer: IF you don't have a wall valve like in the original video and most homes, but DO have access to the water valve hidden somewhere you'd probably be able to jury rig a nipple from the water hose to the bidet filter and continue on as normal if you can fit it all in the hidden space. Don't forget the plumbers tape and be careful of the filters plastic thread when you do install, they can wear off if you screw it badly.

@MilkDrinker: Checked, it's FULL embedded in the wall like a damn hotel. So……………. :/

Well bidet time is over, that's a shame, a big shame, because it's going to be hard to go back without one, totally disgusting.

@hamwhisperer: Bad luck ham, thanks for the update and good luck with in the future on your bidet adventures

  • Your biggest problem is the lack of a power point as an extension cord wouldn't be ideal in a bathroom.

Also check your unit doesn't use recycled water for the flushing toilet.

    • I've done this before - the extension, it's not ideal, but with a long enough cable, neat tape, it can be done.

The water is definitely the bigger issue.

      • Yep just be careful, there's a reason why there are strict guidelines when it comes to power points in bathrooms.
