Will Xiaomi MiA1 work with Boost (Telstra network)?

Boost SIM pack lists 700MHz (B28) as one of the network bands that device should support to use the connectivity fully. Xiaomi MiA1 apparently does not support this band though it does all other bands. Will it impact the connectivity of the phone? Has anyone used Xiaomi MiA1 with Telstra network or any other which uses 700MHz? I live in an urban area in Sydney.

It'll work just fine bud. You just won't have access to band 28 coverage, as you aren't living rural there's nothing to worry about.

  • Only issue for me and my Mi Max 2, is no VoLTE.

Used the A1 for two years in urban Sydney, no issues with signal on both Aldimobile then Telstra directly. Only issue is when you go outside of certain areas you'll pick up 3G instead of 4G, wasn't ever that bad.

  • The only thing I can think of in a heavily populated area if you are switching between 4g/3g in areas which is predominately B28 you may have little to no data in worse case scenario during peak times.
