Online Shipping Service Temando Closing in 30 Days

Hi, I just heard from a Fastway courier that Temando are closing in 30 days?
I'm yet to find anything concrete, other than the below info:

From what I understand a number of online stores, small and major retailers use Temando. I haven't seen anything concrete, but I've used Temando for pickups, and they were quite good, without needing an account with Fastway, Couriers Please, TNT etc
What other alternatives are there, if the above is true?

  • Sendle
  • Star Shipit
  • PacknSend

  • I just sent my Xbox One X to them. Better get my new one sent to me before any closing down

    • What was wrong with the box?

      • After my missus used it for a night when I was out, the next day it started running really slow.

Tried doing a reset, didn't make much difference and only got worse after a couple days

Works the same as temando with more couriers, same day delivery and pallet options.

  • Copy of concrete email from 25 September regarding closure -

We write to you as a valued customer of Temando.

We refer to Temando's Website Terms of Use, which can be accessed by following this link: https://temando.com/en/legal-disclaimer (Terms of Use). As a user of the Temando website, the Terms of Use are agreed by you upon registering to use Temando.

We wish to let you know you that Temando is undergoing an orderly shut-down of the business, subject of course to its ongoing legal obligations. As part of this shut down process, your access to the Temando Dashboard will cease to operate from 12:01am on 29 October 2019.

This means that as of 12:01am on 29 October 2019, you will no longer be able to login to access the Temando Dashboard.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please note that you will still be able to access the Dashboard until 12:01am on 29 October 2019 and the Temando Dashboard will operate as usual until this time and date.

Temando's helpdesk will remain available for any queries you may have regarding Temando's services, however should you wish to discuss Temando's shut down, please email us on [email protected]

Why is Temando shutting down its business?

The parent company of Temando has made a decision to bring the Temando business to a close in Australia. This decision was made for financial reasons.

Why are we giving 30 days' notice?

While Temando is not required to give you any notice under the Terms of Use, Temando has made the decision to give 30 days' notice to provide its Dashboard customers time to seek to transition to another service provider.

    What can you do now?

There are a number of alternate suppliers in the market who operate broadly similar services to Temando. As you are in the best position to judge the needs of your business, we are unable to recommend a service provider for your business. However, in order to assist you, we have prepared the below list of the businesses that provide similar services to Temando:

    Pack & Send;

    Pik Pak;

    Shippit; and

    Ship Station.

We appreciate your business and wish you well for the future.

    Kind regards

    Temando

  • I like sendle - good rates, subcontract out to a range of couriers.

  • +1

I use www.interparcel.com.au i always found them more affordable than Termando in most cases.

  • Real pity about Temando closing - they have been a great, competitive easy to use method of shipping with quotes from lots of couriers in one easy portal.

I struggle to find someone else competitive.
For example, I just did a quote for a package I have to send to country WA.
    Prices as follows:
    Temando $20.30
PacknSend $20.71 (ok, these are close in price but not sure if this is based on taking to their shop)
    Interparcel $28.31
    Shippit $31.82
    Fastway $28.33

    Any other suggestions?

    • … just an update for future reference:

Temando ended up being $18.xx (I have some auto discount when I'm logged in)
      Smartsend $20.31 (no signature) $32 (with signature) - 15% less if Ebay seller ($17.27 / $27.20)

I also contacted PikPak & Shipstation but they don't offer this sort of service.

  • Pulling my hair out trying to find a similar price to Temando.

The same consignment with the same courier costs 51% more with Interparcel.

Sydney to Melbourne ~12 kg consignment with Courier's Please (non-ATL):

    Temando $22.68
Transdirect/CourierComparison $27.49 (can only issue shipping labels during business hours wtf - found out after booking)
    Interparcel $34.32
    [Couriers Please EzySend] $34.96
Big Post $38.67 (HOW??! ; to be fair TOLL and TNT are around $21 on this site)

    Edit:
CheapCourierComparison $21.39 (seems more dodge, can't tell if ATL or not, and can only get pickup times that are 1 day later vs others)
    Parcel2Courier $27.06

    • Update:

      AusPost $28.30

… Why wouldn't I just use the post office? Sure it might be slower but it's also more reliable.

So far there is no good replacement for Temando for semi-casual consignments.

      • Yes, I'm struggling to find similar rates; real pity they are no longer around.
