Mulberry Trees in The Sydney North Shore (Chatswood - Gordon)

My kids have been offered some silk worms. Does anyone know of any mulberry trees in the Sydney North Shore, from say Chatswood to Gordon? The donator has a source but it's 25kms away (they are visiting their mum who lives nearby) so that is not a feasible option.

  • They're a very common nursery plant. I do not think you'll have issue with getting one from your local nursery.

Worst case scenario, call your closest nursery and if they don't have one, they can order one in.

It's not considered an exotic so you should be able to get a 1m tall specimen for well under $50.

  • I would just go for walks or bike rides in the area to find one in someones front yard nearby and ask them or post on gumtree or facebook marketplace

They are a pretty common tree

Very common tree on Sydney's North Shore with plenty of fruit on them at the moment.

    • Nice to meet you both today.

ihbh - I have to confess to seeing this post but not wanting to give my address to a stranger. Let me know if you need a new supply

      • Thanks D. We have found sufficient supply near us and the worms have turned into moths and laid eggs so all good now.

  • I bought a few from Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery.
quite a solid tree, not much effort and nice fruits too

    • It takes years for it to fruit, doesn't it?
