  • 199 is competitors standard price:

so really your deal is as good as your free shipping

  • $180 (+$9-$12 shipping most areas) from Victoria's basement

  • $599 RRP? Holy Smoke…do people actually pay that sort of price for cookware?

    • I doubt the ones that do know of ozbargain.

    Thanks Neil,
We apologise for not being the best.
We have now adjusted our price to be $199.95, and $174.95 for OzBargain Shoppers

    Thanks for the feedback everyone

    • Nice. You may want to edit your title and description.

While it's great you've come down in price, it is only a $3 saving (<2%) over the competitor. Is a $3 saving really a bargain?

  • You call that a bargain? This is a bargain:

    http://www.victoriasbasement.com.au/Product_Detail.aspx?ParC…

    Over 70% off- $1399 to $399
From $69.95 per piece to $19.95 per piece

    • ugly as sin. I wouldnt let my dog eat off that!

    • mick, retailers always use outrageous RRPs.
For me what I consider a bragain, is if the price is lower than the best previous price out there.

      You can't trust RRPs IMHO

        exactly my point.
It was only a few years ago that RRP and %age discounts actually meant something.
Today, it means nothing as RRPs are so inflated.
We used to take notice of x% off, but now we are immune to it- it means nothing to us.

My comment had nothing to do with this deal. I saw this deal and it reminded me of the victorias basement ad I saw yesterday. That's all.

I'm sorry, but having to get haggled down to a point where you're willing to offer a ~1.7% saving is not a bargain.

Was anyone seriously in the market for this specific 4 piece cookware set but have been waiting patiently for this $3 discount?

    • Honestly? Depends. If that $3 brought it below a threshold I had in mind for buying such things then yes.

If I were in need and were looking for the cheapest price available then yes.

If I were going to only buy because it's so cheap it's stupid (like, say, some blue rays from a uk retailer) then no.

Obviously I was stating my opinion. I don't think it's that bad that I'd vote negative, I just don't see any reason for this listing to exist.

You too don't seem to consider it a bargain (no positive vote), and yet are making excuses for it.

  • Are these non-stick any better than Scanpan non-stick? My Scanpan wok non-stick surface bubbles-up and scratches very quickly.

    • Hi Max2010, Anolon is similar to Scanpan, however from our experience you will not have the same 'bubble' issue. The Anolon surface is much much harder then Scanpan. Not trying to sound like a 'salesperson' - although It comes out like it, but we have definitely experienced very little negative customer feedback in 10 years of retailing Anolon when compared to Scanpan. With regards to both of them, make sure you are using medium-high heat, as high heat tends to cause the 'bubbling'. Hope that helps,

  • I have some anolon stuff, and I've been very happy with it. Can't compare to others as I don't have them.
