GPS App for Tracking Where You Have Been

I wasnt really sure where to post this, but I am hoping for some help.

I am looking for a GPS App that will allow you to…

  • Define a bounded area…and it will beep at you if you are outside the bounds of that area
  • Show you on a map where you have and havent been within that area

These are the two major things I need. It would also be nice if the App could allow you to define way-points and track you against these way points….but this isnt essential.

Any suggestions?

    What about google maps and IFTTT integration this should allow you to place geofencing alerts when you go outside a defined location. Not sure about location tracking within an area you could always use the location history that google maps provides but that is based on date range.     Google maps can track your activity / history.

    I use IFTTT/MacDroid to automate when I am near my home then do XYZ.

    Those 3 combined = very powerful already.

    If you want a home made (non Google) solution, owntracks and home assistant can do it too but requires a lot more know how.

      Hmmm.

      Yeah OK.

      I was hoping more or less for an app that would report in real time. So something like Google Maps that not only shows you where you are…bu also leaves a track to where you have been.

    Is this for your kids? Do they keep going into your next door neighbours yard and climbing on their roof?

    You could just pay for half of a fence…
