Crust Pizza: Free Pizza Pockets (Valued at $8.50) When Ordering Large Pizza from Their New Menu

50

These guys don't do coupons (dang!), and hardly ever have promotions, so I reckon this deal is great news for anyone who loves Crust!

Had them tonight, and they taste alright. They're only small, but there are two of them and they come with a garlic aioli and sit on a bed of rocket.

  • Crust is yummo :)

  • crust is good but such a gigantic rip off

i know the owner, total arrogant bloke who looks like he has ties to the underground. no idea what mkes this chain deemed gourmet. i thought italians invented pizza, not the lebanese

      • +2

I also disagree with their use of the word gourmet, but then again I have high-ish standards! :P

One thing that crust does is uses actual real meat, and decent quality toppings. Their chicken pizzas have chicken breast - not kebab meat. The tomato sauce is real tomato sauce. Funny thing is that I live in an Italian dominated area, and each of the Italian pizza places have $20 pizzas that are way smaller, extremely salty, and extremely stingy on the toppings.

        • +3

From my experience in Italy the Italian Pizza is all about the tomato paste base and dough, not much topping.

        • And cheese. The glorious cheese. :)

When I first saw a pizza in Rome it was the most disheartening thing ever. Base, sauce, cheese and about 5 pieces of topping at most. But it had been ordered and I wasn't going to be the idiot whining tourist (just the idiot quiet tourist at worst :). It was -awesome- and I wound up eating a different pizza each day I was in Rome. It's almost pure taste. I've only had a pizza come close to that once here.

      • i thought rats lived in the underground sewers, not the xxxxxxxxx. ohhhhh.

      • +4

The owner is Greek, you ignorant racist fool!

  • Ordered it last night,
The pockets are pretty good and you get some nice dips.

  • sounds good.

Not a huge fan of Crust - even when I got their pizzas for free, I was disappointed :/

I received two free pizza vouchers from their PR guys to give the "upper crust" menu a try but the two that I tried were blegh.

    • What's the strategy to getting these free pizza vouchers?

      • pretend ur some major up and coming food critic, using new age social media and blogs, that people actually give a crap about

        • -1

Actually, the PR firm has been hitting me up for awhile - they invited me to the "launch" which I declined so they just popped these in the mail for me. I actually rarely do restaurant reviews unless I'm commissioned to do them, the blog is 99% recipes.

eagleboys has really decent takeaway pizza. gpo in martin place is great and so are all the restaurants on church st parramatta

  • Just got their updated fridge magnet menu in the mail yesterday, most items on their menu have been jacked up by $1.

  • Their pizza is overpriced, and while nice, I found that making my own at home actually tasted better.

I couldn't believe that their marketing actually stated "long gone are the days when pizza was cheap" as a good thing. This pizza chain is beaten by many others and I don't see Crust lasting for too long.

  • crust 2 for 1 vouchers are in the sydney entertainment book

    • sadly, not anymore :(

      • The coupons were in it last year, now they're not.
Got told off by my local crust place as i didn't state that i had a coupon when ordering. I guess they were gonna give me less toppings if i had..

        • You serious?

When I ordered 2 crust pizzas on the phone, I didn't mention the voucher until I picked up the orders. They accepted the vouchers without any problem and I walked away freely.

Which one of stores you went?

    • This year's edition (2010 - 2011) or last year's edition (2011 - 2012)?

Greater Melbourne does not have anymore for this year's edition. Shame!!

Why is there so much negative about Crust in here?

Crust is not in the same category as Dominos/Eagle Boys/Pizza Hut

Crust vs Pizza Capers, Tomato Brothers and Hell Pizza, Crust wins in terms of value and variety.

For anyone who doesn't like Crust, where do you go?

Fair enough if you make pizzas at home or you like this one small pizza shop in the middle of no where, but I thought Crust was one of the best pizza places around?

  • My local italian woodfire place does a large pizza for $12..

crust can get stuffed. for the prices they charge, it is a joke and they are greedy. Its usually staffed by 16 year old kids as well…

  • I like Doughboy better, but they are very expensive too.
How come we never see any doughboy deal here? :(

    • Doughboy had a group buy deal $15 for $30 worth of pizza, this was through spreets a couple of months ago, maybe we will see another repeat group buy for Doughboy.

  • How much does a large pizza set you back at Crust?

    • About $20 last time I ordered (a year ago). Have a look at their website, should have menu and pricing.

  • The pizzas take forever to make and they are so thin and fragile, by the time we got them home they are cold. For the price I'd rather go to non chain pizza restaurant.

The owner in my store appeared very arrogant (he wore thongs and shorts, while everyone else was in uniform)and overheard some conversation with a friend/worker and him with plenty of swearing.

Seems more of a novelty pizza bar to me.

    Doubt I'll be going back.

    • upon further reflection, it was quite tasty but not very filling.

  • +1

Seems to be inconsistent from shop to shop except the thong wearing arrogant owner, my local made me sick first time so i wont be back.

  • Ordered it few days ago and get the free deal. The vegetarian one tasted better than the beef one although the dough is quite thick. I used to order from Crust with the Buy 1 get 1 free Entertainment book vouchers… Unfortunately, no more Crust vouchers in the EB this year. Without the vouchers, I don't think they worth the $ they are charging.
