Don’t mean to sound rude but, never heard of it, no idea of the labels history and this seems like a lot of $$ for the reasons stated.
20% off something thats unknown to many might not be a bargain..yet

You've never heard of D'Arenberg? or the Footbolt?

Probably biased being based in SA, but D'Arenberg is pretty much one of the biggest names in Mclaren Vale. If you want to catch a helicopter to a winery in the shape of a twisted Rubix cube smeared in art for a 10 course degustation meal,.. D'Arenberg is the place.

As for the wine, you are looking at a 90 point Shiraz, around the $20 mark (currently $18 at Dan's). At $15 you will get a nice wine (check your vintages) with a status label to match. At 20% off, it's pretty honest.

It's ok Ozy. You are entitled to your opinion but just because you haven't heard of D'Arenberg doesn't mean it's unknown to many.

      • I sit corrected, might have to try it given the rubix cube helicopters taking me to grub with booze.

I go back to when d'Arry Osborne was running things - the Footbolt came out in the mid eighties, and has always been a decent drop.

    Purchased.
Have been looking for a D'Arenberg to stick in the cellar since taking my Father-in-law to the Cube last year. Quite simply one of the best food and wine experiences I've had.
Go there Ozy, you'll never have trouble recognising the name again!
