  • The Skilhunt H03 is a great headlamp its comes in a NW 4500-5000k tint, The output is rated around 1000 lumens probably a tad less seeing as its a NW tint and using optics. The setup is great for closeup work which is what most headlamps are used for, But some times it would be good to have a tad more throw like when looking onto murky water. You can get another H03 variant that has optics and a reflector i think its the H03f best of both worlds.

What model are you looking at? The H03 has no built in USB charging.

The best part about the H03 is the headband quality is top notch its heaps more comfy than other brands and is more sturdy.
I own a few headlamps seeing as i do a bit of night fishing. My H03 headband has lasted the longest out of all the others. I am a Nitecore fan and own a HC30 and a HC33 but the headbands always get heaps stretchy and loose after some time.

Another cheap option would be the Convoy or Sofirn headlamps they are similiar lights with a few different specs. I do not own one but they have good feedback on BLF.

Sofirn headlamp, Heaps of tint options using a Cree XPL (Should throw light a tad further as its a smaller LED) Has built in USB charging.

Convoy Headlamp heaps of tint option using a Cree XML2. No USB charging.

  • You didn't mention weight but the Nitecore NU20 or NU25 is the clear winner on the ultralight subreddit (both are about $30 USD).. I lean towards the NU20 because it's a high CRI light and has only one button (easier and quicker to activate).

  • Some great options already listed above that fit the requirements specified very well.

In my humble opinion save a little extra and go for a Zebralight $120
Ive had mine for 5 years cant be happier, it as been extremely well used (was used as primary light source camping for 12 months). Great for saving money in the long run, lasts ages on one 18650 battery for normal use, VERY bright on High its 1616 Lm (lasts about 20-30 min depending on battery and 3.4 Lm on low (lasts 232 hours… thats a hell of a lot of books you can get through). Ive had many high end headlamps over the last 25 years, none have lasted past 2 years for me. I bought a a black diamond ICON 500Lm proir to this and it broke after a few months of high use and corroded terminals was heavier and runtime way way lower.

If you want a durable high lumen headlamp that is half the price of ones with similar abilities I cant recommend Zebralight highly enough.
