Keno Promotions Confusing, Maybe Misleading?

So I know that gambling promotions/discounts are banned and that's cool. This is question about a promotion that I think they have screwed up.

I have a Keno App account that's linked to my TAB account. They SMS all sorts of deposit bonuses from time to time. I get at least one per week. I got an SMS promotion on Sunday at 10.30am that said:

"Your exclusive $150 deposit offer is ready for you. Deposit $50 or more and get a bonus $150 of Heads or Tails games. Learn more http://bit.ly/2NNluzE T&C's apply. Optout STOP to 0497004004 Gamble Responsibly"

At 11.50am I got another SMS that said:

"Your exclusive $20 deposit offer is ready for you. Deposit $10 or more and get a bonus $20 of Heads or Tails games. Learn more http://bit.ly/2NQUX5C T&C's apply. Optout STOP to 0497004004 Gamble Responsibly"

Then at 2.43pm I got a message that said "Hi There, you were sent an offer earlier in error. Sorry about that! Your correct offer is Deposit $10 or more and get a bonus $20 of Heads or Tails games. Learn more http://bit.ly/2NQUX5C T&C's apply. Optout STOP to 0497004004 Gamble Responsibly"

So I deposited $50 but I only got the $20 offer (as if I had deposited $10). I thought it was going to be 2 seperate offers and wasn't really sure. So before I deposited I went and checked the link that they SMS'd to me and it was still live with the details (at time of this post it's still live).

Their promotions always seem to have problems but they usually end in my favour (e.g. I get 5 free games, but they actually credit it 5 times and other things like that have happened in the past).

Should I complain about this one though?

Did you deposit before or after 2.43 ?

    • After (a couple of days after)

        Huh

So it told you the previous offer was incorrect. Then you proceeded to ignore and deposit $50 with the expectation that the first offer was valid. Now you want to complain that you didnt receive what they told you weren't going to get? Entitled and dodgy.

        • No, I thought it was two seperate offers. They send them out all the time. I originally thought the 3rd SMS was about the 2nd SMS. So when I went back in and checked, the 1st SMS was still live on the website. I didn't really read the 2nd SMS to see what the offer was so I didn't realise the 3rd SMS related to the 1st SMS until after.

            @thetrack: So

            1. You received and read SMS 1
            2. You received SMS2, but didnt really read what the offer was.
            3. You received SMS3 notifying you that "you were sent an offer earlier in error" and notified you of the correct offer (which is offer in SMS2).
            4. You thought SMS3 was about the SMS 2 that you didnt really read.

The latest SMS 3 that you got notified you of the most valid and correct offer available to you. It's basically telling you to forget all offers previously offered to you during that day, and the offer in SMS 3 is one that matters to you.

You got no leg to stand on imo.

            • @Ughhh: Yeah that about sums it up. I guess I didn't really read SMS 2 because the offer didn't appeal to me. I sort of read it and went "Nah, not worth my time". Then when SMS 3 came through I thought, "oh that must be about the offer I didn't care about but not really sure…" then when I went to check, I looked at SMS 1 and the offer was still live on the website so I thought "Great, I can pick either offer from SMS 1 or SMS 3".

But yeah, I probably don't have a leg to stand on but it still wasn't clear.

I played the "free" $20 offer and won $24 so I'm just going to cash out!

If they want to send me the 1st offer as well then I'll keep playing keno, otherwise I'm out!

Here's a savings tip - stop punting on Keno

    • Odds of winning the Spot 10 jackpot: 1 in 8,911,711

How much does it cost to enter? $1

So you can expect to spend $8.9M to win $1M. I like those odds!

No, you can expect a 1 in 8 million-and-blah-blah chance every time you play it, expecting to win after playing it that many times in a row would be irrational.

        :p

OP a pro gambler. Waiting for positive EV and only then firing :)

  • only gamble what you can afford to lose.

  • Whatever "free" credit they give you will eventually end up back in their pockets. Let it go…
