Woolworths Everyday Money credit card

Bad news for anyone with a Woolworths Everyday Money credit card. After only a couple years on the market, Woolworths sent me a letter today informing me that I will now need to spend $4000, rather than $3448 to get a $20 gift voucher. That's a 16% reduction in value!

I'll be looking elsewhere to see if there are any better deals around.

  • That's an expensive $20! The qantas card is better as there are often bonus points on offer. Like any card it's only good if you pay in full monthly and buy stuff you would have purchased anyhow. Better off switching to a no fee card.

  • If you mainly spend at Woolies & Co, 2k or under would get you the $20 gift voucher.

3 points for every dollar spent on Woolworths Select products purchased in-store at Woolworths or Safeway Supermarkets and Woolworths Everyday MobileTM products purchased in-store at Woolworths or Safeway Supermarkets, BIG W, Woolworths or Safeway Liquor and BWS.

2 points for every dollar spent on products purchased at Woolworths or Safeway Supermarkets, BIG W, CALTEX WOOLWORTHS/SAFEWAY co-branded fuel outlets, epump, Woolworths/Safeway Liquor, BWS, Dan Murphy's, Thomas Dux, and participating Dick Smith and Tandy stores. (1)

1 point for every dollar spent on other purchases.(1)

  • The website also still states 3448 points for the $20 card.

    • The new rewards formula doesn't start until 1 Nov. Which is good because it'll give me a chance to move everything over onto a new card.
