      I found his forum very focussed on building new houses. Not so much on renovations.

      This site is good for the DIY person. Lots of technical info and tradies that frequent the site.

    I'd love a forum where I could get a name of a quality but fair priced builder in Melbourne so I could talk to them about how much my potential renovation would cost. Every time I look at renovation sites/forums I just have more questions then before I went there.

      what we did when we recently completed a renovation was go to the major builders (eg; extension factory, sherbrooke), boutique builders, and then we also got some local builders to quote. We also got a couple of architects to come and do some designs

        What was the cost on that? I'd think to save on costs you'd only want to get one architect to do the designs?

          Well a friend of mine is buddies with an architect, so he was cheaper than usual. Another option is to find a recent graduate

      doesn't matter which builder

      if you get shit project manager assigned to your build, you're up for a ride

      past reviews do not reflect future performance, ppl change jobs every time
