Hi Guys,

I wanted to let you know about an app I built in my spare time to help people save money shopping with Woolworths Online, DiscountKit
. I’ve included a quick write up below. It was originally a tool I built to help my business bulk buy ingredients that I made into a website last year, I figured I would share it if anyone found it useful. There are a few other sites that do something similar, the main difference here is that this is all it does. It will only email you if the product you want goes on special - it will never email you for any other reason ever.

With the use of Discount Kit you can now get an email notification whenever your favourite Woolworths products go on special so you can buy them and save money. Discount Kit started out of the need to know when certain Woolworths products were at half price without having to login and check the price daily. As the owner of a food business that went through Maltesers like crazy we would save a lot of money buying them in bulk when they were half price. If we missed out on the special it would be costly but we couldn’t realistically track the Malteser prices daily.

        https://pricehipster.com/ Does the exact same thing, I only receive emails on products I set, I’ve never received anything else.

          The idea behind discountkit is just that you enter a URL from Woolworths then you get an email alert, pricehipster has a lot more functionality, however the way it works with keeping its own catalog of products has often resulted in some issues of it not having some products from Woolworths I wanted. As DiscountKit takes the product data when you enter the product as I don't maintain a Database of products it is always available. What I mean is there isn't even a marketing checkbox or anything. It's just a basic tool to achieve one purpose.

          I posted it here as I figured some people would find it useful, feel free not to use it.

    Did you ever contact the manufacturer of Maltesers directly?

      Small buisness won’t have the buying power/ volume of a major chain.
      Generally supermarket sale prices will be lower.

    I don't see the need for an account to use this service. Providing an email should be enough?
